December 2 (Sunday) 9am Breakfast, 10am-2pm JtE-3 class and orientation. Transport to Old Cairo; view
Harem street of Nightclubs, Tahrir square, historical location of Casino Badia, Nile bridges;
orientation at Khan al Khalili, visit costumer Mahmoud Abdel Ghaffar (optional: order and measure
for Nubian Dress), Sahlib & Karkaday at Fishowy's Kahwah.
December 3 (Monday) JtE-3 Class, "Baladi Walk" (including Mohamed Ali street & Henkesh, old al-Kahira,
Khyameyya street of tent makers, Tarboosh and Shamaa El Zeffah makers, Al-Ghouria street, Bab
Zuwaila) Dinner on Al Ahzar street. Tanoura show at the stately Wikalet Al Ghouri open-air theater.
December 4 (Tuesday) JtE-3 Classroom, Interview/visit, student paper presentations,
Dancing to our own private Live Music Takht
December 5 (Wednesday) Agriculural (Cultural) Museum, Umm Kulsum museum, JtE-3 Classroom,

December 6 (Thursday) JtE Classroom, Interview/visit, Costume fitting, evening live show at El Mastaba
theater, night Zeffah-hunt
December 7 (Friday) Open day (often JtE members opt to explore the Great Pyramid, ride horses or camels,
the Pharonic Museum, AUC Bookstore, shopping downtown... etc... to name a few)
Afternoon transfer for JtE-4 Sleeper Train (or transport to Cairo airport) say goodbye to
Sphinx Guesthouse.

December 8 (Saturday) Arrive in Luxor, check into Sheraton Luxor, JtE-4 Classroom and Orientation,
evening horse carts to Luxor Temple Sound and Light show
December 9 (Sunday) Morning visit to Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple, madinet Hapu temple,
and "Deir el Madina" ancient artisan village, Dance class with Khyriyya Mazin, student paper
presentations
December 10 (Monday) JtE Classroom, Saidi dance class, Evening show
December 11 (Tuesday) Private bus and guide through Saidi countryside, tours of Edfu and Kom Ombo,
check into Basma hotel, Aswan
December 12 (Wednesday) Philae Island and tour, Nubian Dance class, JtE Classroom, boat on
the beautiful Nile to Nubian Village, shai and Nubian cultural interview
December 13 (Thursday) Felucca ride, lunch with an Aswani family on Plantation Island,
Nubian dance class, show or wedding
December 14 (Friday) Nubian Museum, Graduation Show and Certificates.

full moon, following the pilgrims' path of those honoring the burning bush and
